Curricular integration: the contribution of the lesson to the formation of the graduate profile

Introduction: The meaning and extension of the concept of curriculum vary substantially according to the authors and ideological visions according to the needs of social groups at each historical moment. Objective: to analyze the contributions of the Public Health subject to the profile of the graduate of the Medicine career proposed in the Curriculum at the San Gregorio de Portoviejo University.
Methodology: documentary analysis of the USGP Medicine career plan and the syllabus of the Public Health subject to demonstrate its contribution to the graduate's profile. Results: The curriculum represents a project where a series of ideological, epistemological, pedagogical and psychological conceptions are specified, which express the intentionality of the educational system. The profile of the graduate proposed by the USGP Medicine degree curriculum with a competency-based approach proposes that the graduate be a comprehensive professional, health promoter, capable of preventing damage, treating diseases and reducing disabilities, with An epidemiological and investigative approach is addressed from the Public Health subject. Conclusions: the substantial contributions to the training of this profile of the graduate from the Public Health subject were evident.
