The investigative work has to do with the problems that the Distance Modality of Universidad Regional Autónoma de los Andes (Uniandes) is going through, facing the overwhelming change that education is facing at present, due to the impact of technology and its constant evolution, resulting in important gaps that cover in the performance of the teachers of this modality with the purpose of procuring a quality education. The teacher as one of the main actors in the teaching - learning process requires training according to current educational needs. Based on direct observation, it was initially possible to diagnose that several teachers work in this modality with basic knowledge about methodologies and strategies of the distance modality and a weak management of the NICTs has been detected. This problem has been confirmed through surveys of teachers and students, as well as interviews with Tele-education staff. As a solution to the problem described, we propose the creation of a curricular model for the training of teachers who work in the Distance Modality, starting from basic guidelines for its design and subsequent execution that promote a quality education.
