Abstract

In recent times, it has been evident that there has been a radical change in the interest of studying a foreign language, so new techniques that respond to communication have been put into practice, in that sense, the class of English as a foreign language has paid more attention to the development of listening skills in students learning this language, not only from the teaching point of view, but also from the research point of view. The communicative approach in foreign language teaching has brought with it the search for new methods to carry out this process. Studies and theories on communication have varied according to the contexts and the cultural and socio-economic characteristics of the times. Theoretical and empirical research methods are used, and types of exercises and results obtained in the teaching of listening comprehension in English are presented.
