A STUDY OF CONCEPTS AND APPROACHES OF CULTURE AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH THE NOTION OF IDENTITY

In Cuba the development of culture was favored and promoted the revolutionary triumph of 1959, which promoted progress in different periods of intellectual and artistic life; for example, the National Literacy Campaign, the creation of educational and cultural institutions throughout the country and the combination of universal knowledge with the appreciation of the heritage of the nation. Promoting culture means that the masses become the active subject and while the recipient of cultural development. It involves the implementation of a system type media culture designed to promote active and spontaneous participation of the population in developing, rescue and affirmation of national culture in its broadest sense, including therefore all spheres of social life and especially the recognition of cultural heritage and artistic and literary values. In the article a study of approaches and concepts of culture and its relationship with the notion of identity is performed.
