The article presents an analysis of the performance in 2023 of the journal Didáctica y Educación, published by the University of Las Tunas. For this purpose, the 120 manuscripts published in this period were analyzed based on article typology, author affiliation, institutions that contributed the most, impact metrics such as total number of citations, h-index and related parameters Hirsch a, m, Zhang's e-index, Egghe's g-index, among other indicators. Data for this study were retrieved from Google Scholar with Publish or Perish 8.8.4275.8412, Google Scholar Metrics statistics, Google Analytics, article statistics section, editorial activity, users, and reports from the views, review and article report generator of the journal platform in OJS version 3.3.0.8. The results show that the journal publishes articles relevant to research and practice in didactics and education, and that research articles predominate. The timely publication of all the planned issues, the increased participation of authors and evaluators external to the publishing university, and the adoption of good international editorial practices were achieved. The bibliometric analysis shows a growth in citations received, index and impact factor. The institutional and geographic diversity of the contributions is highlighted, with more than one third of the articles published in international co-authorship. The results of 2023 lay a solid foundation for the continuous improvement of the journal as a vehicle for quality scientific communication in its field.
