AUTHENTIC MATERIALS IN FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING. A NEED IN THE CURRENT ECUADORIAN UNIVERSITY

Teaching and learning has become a reality, marked by different schools, methodologies, structuring and practices. This paper aims to describe some theoretical positions on the teaching materials and the need in the current Ecuadorian university. This proposal is specified in consideration of interactivity, understood as the relationship between the actions of the student and teacher performances around content, as the fundamental unit of analysis of teaching and learning situations. Besides authentic materials enable students to develop confidence through activities that strengthen and develop the English using real problems that lead you to be creative, imaginative and analytical. It is concluded that authentic materials are chosen an alternative for the development of learning and is expected to employees the means and resources support the development of the communication skills of students.
