MARGINALITY IN THE LOCAL CONTEXT. AN ANALYSIS FROM CULTURAL STUDIES IN LAS TUNAS

Abstract

The study of social phenomena plays an important role in the theoretical elaborations of researchers who aim to provide answers to problems of daily actions. The marginality is a little matter worked in cultural studies, and other more specific to sociology, however, its various manifestations experienced in actual reality, form a sociocultural phenomenon worth investigating. The marginality is a phenomenon that is also expressed through culture, but even more, a product of the subculture, as manifested by the actions of individuals who do not belong to the elite; reasons need for Cuban science should promote actions leading to their knowledge and understanding from a critical and reflective stance. In Las Tunas has not been studied from the Culture therefore insufficient epistemic treatment social phenomenon marginalization, limited local cultural studies, defending the idea that the cultural dimension of the phenomenon demands a study in the local context for ranking disseminating indigenous to the features of the subculture as opposed to this social phenomenon values. Resulting need a study of the cultural dimension of the phenomenon characterizing the socioeconomic, political and social development of the province from 1976 to present; exemplify the cultural training from culture-subculture and marginalization relationship; reveal the cultural dimension of the phenomenon, how is expressed in Las Tunas and cultural events developed in Las Tunas, the presence of marginality in them and assess the study conducted.
