UNION OF HISTORIANS OF CUBA IN LAS TUNAS. HISTORY AND CONTRIBUTION TO LOCAL HISTORICAL CULTURE AND EDUCATION

Since time immemorial, historians have been grouped into scientific societies with the purpose of achieving common goals from the investigative point of view and the dissemination of History, work not always known. The Union of Historians of Cuba, with a remarkable scientific and cultural character, is one of those many existing in the world that work for the cultural and historical development of the peoples. The historical legacy of said association in Las Tunas from its foundation in 1986 to the present, is a little known fact, which limits the recognition of the association and part of the local historical tradition, for this reason in this article its objective is show the achievements in the field of research, dissemination and teaching of History from the work of the association. For the study, we used archival documents of the organization, such as: memories of events, minutes and reports of activities and work balances; interviews with managers of the base sections, in addition to the author's experiences.
