TASK-BASED LEARNING IN ENGLISH POSGRADUATE COURSES

Preparation in English for academic purposes through postgraduate courses is a necessity and a requirement in today's Cuban university; that’s why various courses are implemented which respond to educational objectives, postgraduate students’ needs and the demands of the evaluation system. Based on the strengths and weaknesses revealed in graduate students as well as the design and implementation of English courses, the author suggests the implementation of the Task-Based Learning (TBL) to emphasize the importance of the communicative task in English for the development of the academic communication skills that students need to access updated scientific-technical information in the different specialties and to participate in academic exchange in English through events and scientific publications.
