Abstract

The Municipal University Center (CUM) of Consolación del Sur has the experience of the Chair of the Elderly (CUAM) developing university extension actions of cultural satisfaction for its elderly students, allowing them to raise their quality of life under the motto: an active and healthy old age. The present work aims to: evaluate the diversity of outreach activities for those enrolled in CUAM in this territory, contributing to high levels of satisfaction of enrolled and their families with practices that lead to satisfactory longevity. Based on the diagnosis of the cultural improvement needs of this age, outreach activities were carried out such as: encounters with history, workshops on the natural and cultural heritage of the town, talks for the prevention of accidents and protection against natural disasters, actions of environmental education, creation workshops and crafts for the fulfillment of hygienic measures before the Covid - 19 all carried out with the participation of specialists in the subjects. Developing training actions with the elderly is necessary is to place them at the height of these times, taking into account the necessary resources for their intellectual and emotional development.
