SET OF EXERCISES TO DEVELOP THE ABILITY WRITING IN ENGINEERING SUDENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HOLGUIN

A study to evaluate critically the development on writing in second year mechanical engineering students at the Engineering Faculty was carried out aiming on creating a set of exercises to develop this skill. An updated literature was revised and the information about writing was analyzed appropriately according to the most important information taken from the sources. Several methods were used such as observation, interview, historical-logical, analysis and synthesis. The results were: the students` insufficient development and the lack of motivation while writing, due to the lack of knowledge about aspects such as the parts and types of paragraphs, connectors and punctuation marks, also the lack of vocabulary used while writing. The authors recommended the use of the set of exercises in the first years of the engineering careers.
