Abstract

The development of mathematical literacy in Computer Science students is crucial for developing logical and analytical skills, although difficulties in this process have been identified at the Hermanos Saíz Montes de Oca University of Pinar del Río. This study conducts a systematic review with a bibliometric approach of scientific production (2014-2024) on the topic. Using the dialectical materialist method, articles indexed in Google Scholar were analyzed using bibliometric indicators processed. The results show that the years 2017, 2019, and 2022 presented the highest scientific productivity. The countries with the highest contributions were China, Brazil, the United States, Cuba, and Spain, with a co-authorship index of 1.6. The analysis reveals sustained growth in research on the development of mathematical literacy, highlighting its relevance in higher education. This study provides an updated theoretical framework for future research, highlighting global trends and academic collaborations in the field. Bibliometrics allowed us to identify gaps and opportunities to strengthen mathematical training in computer engineering, particularly in university contexts such as the one analyzed.
