Abstract

Integrative assessment is a requirement that should predominate in the teaching – learning process in Higher Education, methodological ways and steps have been proposed for its development and application but it is still a problem that requires further systematization to achieve its purpose, this work addresses the fundamental aspects to take into account for the design of integrative evaluations aimed at strengthening the comprehensive preparation of the biology teacher in training. The main objective is to model the integrative evaluation of biological contents in the teaching – learning process of the didactics of biology in the formation of the biology teacher. The model includes three subsystems: categorical integrator, methodological integrator and contextual integrator. Likewise, the concept of integrative evaluation of biological contents is defined. Within the aspects taken into consideration in the integrative evaluation described is the instructive, educational and developmental nature of the biological contents as well as the transformations that occurred in the discipline of biology as a consequence of the third improvement of education that significantly impacts its object of the profession.
