REDESIGNING THE ACCOUNTING AND AUDITING ROLE OF THE TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY OF COTOPAXI

The Technical University of Cotopaxi was born to cover the educational needs of the young students of the Province of Latacunga and the country. On February 21, 1991, with a single parallel of 39 students, the career in accounting and auditing is opened. Currently, there are 600 students in full time modality. The high demand of human talent that contributes to the solution of accounting, financial and audit problems in the company has caused that the career in accounting and audit is of interest and priority in the academic offerings by the Institutions of Higher Education. At present, the Engineering in Accounting and Auditing, due to the demands of the control organizations of the IES (CES, CEAACES, SENESCYT) and receiving UNESCO, CINE 2013 must change its name to "Bachelor in Accounting and Auditing". After completing education at the Technical University of Cotopaxi, accounting and auditing professionals dominate international accounting, tax and audit methods and approaches, ensuring information integrity, recording and processing operations for the presentation of reliable and truthful financial statements, in order to facilitate decision making for the executives of a company, so they are prepared to act in a globalized world.
