Learning to educate and instruct: cornerstone in the English teacher education training

In the Pedagogical Programs in Cuba, particularly the ones training teachers of English, the discipline Didactics of Foreign Languages has among its objectives, to achieve the integration of instruction and education in lesson planning. This objective has turned it central in the pedagogical approach followed that enhances not only teaching to plan lessons with the linguisticcommunicative aspects of the language in mind, but also to promote the integral development of students through the learning of educative/cultural contents associated with the language in order to contribute to the education of better citizens prepared to live and faced the challenges imposed by the XXI from a global and local perspective.
