Modeling agricultural education for the agronomy technicians to promote food sovereignty

This work is carried out with the purpose of resolving the insufficiencies that are observed in the
professional training process of the Middle Technician in the Agronomy specialty, which limit
agricultural education to enhance food production as an expression of food sovereignty in the
territory.
A diagnostic study carried out on students of this specialty at the Guillermón Moncada Veranes
Polytechnic Institute of the Urbano Noris municipality of the province of Holguín revealed
inadequacies in their professional training, which limit agricultural education to generate food
production in the territorial context. , which constitutes the research problem that this work aims to
solve. Hence, its objective is aimed at developing an agricultural education model for the Middle
Technician in Agronomy to enhance food sovereignty from the articulation with the local
agricultural innovation system, so that their professional performance is favored.
The fulfillment of this objective required the execution of research tasks, in the development of
which different research methods, both theoretical and empirical, were used, namely: Historical
Logic, Hypothetical Deductive, Modeling, Document Review, Scientific Observation and
Interviews. The combination of these research methods and their results allowed us to conceive the
agricultural education model to promote food sovereignty from the relationship between
professional training in the local context to promote food sovereignty and performance to produce
food at a local scale.
