The present work presents a theoretical analysis that covers the historical development of hypertexts, as well as the linguistic, pedagogical and technological components that must be considered by the teacher for its construction. All this seen from the perspective of distance education as a study model that assumes a student-centered teaching-learning process, with wide access to higher studies and with the intensive use of the possibilities offered by Information Technologies. and Communications (ICT) to guarantee flexibility, communication and interactivity. From linguistics the criteria of the construction of the text are assumed, in which the grammatical structures of lexies, textons and encriptons are highlighted. The pedagogical and technological components are related to the hypermedial navigation structure that is achieved by recognizing the learning styles of the students and the packaging of hypertexts as complex learning objects that guarantee their interoperability and reusability.
