Abstract

The virtual classroom is an advantage for all organizations that develop the training and learning process. The article argues the benefits and potential of virtual learning environments, its use generates higher performance and motivation in users. It is done to highlight the importance of developing and implementing virtual learning environments in the educational system as a tool to optimize quality in education and to take into account the problems identified during the research process, for their subsequent solution and continuous improvement. The objective of this research is the implementation of a virtual learning platform - virtual classroom - as an academic support tool in the teaching-learning of students and teachers, to develop skills in the management of a virtual environment. The methodology used is a qualitative descriptive and interpretative-explanatory study, using analytical-synthetic and historical-logical methods, as well as empirical methods such as observation and documentary analysis. It was possible to analyze the behavior and perception on the use of the virtual classroom by the users of the "Enrique Cabrera" Faculty of Medical Sciences and to know the weaknesses that should be worked on as a solution to the problem. The results obtained allowed us to plan actions to solve the main problems affecting the development of computerization in our educational system, addressing the most vulnerable aspects in order to obtain optimal results in the implementation of the virtual classroom by students and teachers.
