Abstract

Sedentary behavior is a global health issue impacting both university educators and students. This study emphasizes the necessity of incorporating effective strategies to mitigate sedentary behavior into professional academic training. A significant discrepancy was observed between the current and desired state of sedentary behavior prevention. The introduction of 'active awareness' is suggested as a transformative element. A method was formulated to incorporate active awareness into the dynamics of sedentary behavior prevention. This method will facilitate the practical examination of active awareness' functionality and impact, thereby enriching existing theoretical foundations. Implementing this method in a university setting will yield practical guidelines for effective active awareness integration. Anticipated outcomes include enhanced knowledge, motivation, and behaviors related to physical activity among educators and students, leading to a decrease in sedentary behavior. In conclusion, the inclusion of active awareness offers a promising approach to instigate qualitative changes in sedentary behavior prevention and foster the development of healthy, active professionals.
