Etymology versus tradition: how should educational disciplines be named?

Abstract

According to students’ age educational disciplines have been given different names upon the basis of either etymology or tradition. A comprehensive description of these names is displayed as well as their origin and evolution. In front of such discrepancy, Unesco’s statements are eventually consulted.
