Abstract

This work involves a characterization of the dynamic of teaching of subject “Scientific Work I” (TC I) from the perspective of teacher and student. This subject is taught in the second semester of the second year of Bachelor in Physics, it is a part of a high scope subject and it is responsible for forming the primary mode of action of students: scientific research. This course familiarizes students with the professional work of a physicist and continues motivating them and developing the love for the profession. The method that has been implemented for the development of the subject at Universidad de Oriente as a result of several years of experience in teaching is exposed. It is highlighted how interdisciplinary relationships are established, primarily with subjects as General Physics and English, and how the use of some contents of methodology of scientific research allow students to construct research categories of necessary use in developing their future final work in the next subjects of the discipline. The student is trained to perform critical evaluation of the formal of research works developed in the department using the theoretical knowledge taught in lectures. It is fundamental objective of the method used in the course that the student scientifically justifies the results of their work through seminars. As a way to contrast the teacher´s opinion in the teaching of the subject, a fifth-year student exposes their experiences and criteria after almost three years of receiving the subject.
