Abstract

The article presents the results of an investigation whose objective is to apply a Molecular Visualization System of chemical structures with the use of Information and Communication Technologies, to improve the presentation of structural models in Chemistry courses for Civil Engineers as a didactic strategy to improve understanding of its contents. The experience was applied during the 2016-2017 academic year, with first-year students. Based on the observation and reflection on the students' learning difficulties, an extra-class activity was conceived that had satisfactory results. The verification through the survey reported a clear consensus that the exercise with the molecular visualization system was interesting and helped to understand the subject.
